Estates
It has been estimated that roughly 55% of Americans do not have a will. If you are over the age 18, plus married and/or have a child, then you probably need to have your estate evaluated and a will prepared. Our firm can explain how probate law operates, explain your exposures without a will, provide you with your options, and then provide you with a will and any other needed instruments.
Our estate planning consists of the following:
- Wills
- Powers of Attorney (general and limited)
- Living Wills and Healthcare Directives
- Appointment of Healthcare Representative
- Family Trusts
- Special Needs Trust
- Medicaid/Long-term Care Planning
The Moyer Law Firm can also handle the probate of your estate, or the estate of a family member. We will assist the personal representative of the estate with the preparation of the necessary court filings, the transfer of your property to the proper party, the payment of any eligible claims against your estate, the filing of the estate’s final tax forms, etc. The probate process, while not necessarily complex, can be cumbersome. If the deceased person has taken the time to properly prepare his or her estate prior to death, then the probate process should be efficiently and timely administered by the personal representative and legal counsel.
The Moyer Law Firm has restricted its Estates practice to Marion County and the contiguous counties of Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, Boone, Hamilton, Hancock and Shelby counties.
